In October 2021, the collaborative research team leading current HERITAGE-related studies met in Martha's Vineyard, MA for a research retreat. The group of junior and senior scientists included members from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Broad Institute in Boston, University of South Carolina, LSU-Pennington Biomedical Research Center, and Duke-National University of Singapore. The group discussed current and future analyses, manuscripts, and grants.

It is also an excellent way to learn design through experimentation.
